As a result of the 2010 U.S. Census, new district lines were drawn for the Gwinnett County Board of Education. The maps submitted by the Georgia General Assembly were approved by the U.S. Justice Department and the new School Board districts took effect in 2012.
The District 3 area now includes thirty public schools in all or part of the following school clusters:
- Collins Hill;
- Duluth, including Berkeley Lake;
- Lanier in Sugar Hill;
- Norcross, including Peachtree Corners;
- North Gwinnett, including Suwanee;
- Peachtree Ridge;
Also included are New Life Academy, North Metro Academy of Performing Arts, GIVE West, and the Paul Duke STEM High School that opened in August 2018 to relieve overcrowding at the current Norcross High School.
I look forward to continuing my service as your District 3 School Board member because I am committed to “Building World Class Schools: One Student at a Time.” I want to continue to serve our more than 180,500 students and their parents, the 22,500 faculty and staff, and the civic, business, and other community members who comprise one of the nation’s most dynamic live-work-play communities.
Public education is at the heart of the success that Gwinnett County has had in recruiting world-class businesses to locate in Georgia. We educate one of every ten public school students in the State of Georgia in Gwinnett County. What we do here has impact throughout our nation and our world.
